By taking the Inca trail, not only will you experience a route of great historic and cultural significance, but you’ll also visit the ruins of Chachabamba and Wiñawayna, which are only accessible via The Inca Trail. Walking along this striking stone-built trail, you’ll be immersed in the Urubamba valley environment. You will live in a unique moment arriving at Machupicchu through the spectacular Puerta de Sol to overlook the Sacred Citadel of the Incas during sunset. You have ample time to go through the archaeological park of Machupicchu and explore the nearby town of Aguas Calientes.

  1. Day 1: Cusco - Km 104 - Chachabamba - Intipunku - Aguas Calientes

    You’ll begin this adventure with an early pick-up from your hotel in Cusco. After an hour and a half drive, we’ll stop in the quaint and charming town of Ollantaytambo for breakfast. From here, we make our way via train to kilometer 104, our starting point. The trek begins walking through the valley for 2 hours to our lunch site Wiñaywayna. Here, your guide will give you a thorough interpretation of the site and its historical/cultural significance. We then continue to the impressive and notable Puerta del Sol, an outlook giving panoramic views of the citadel of Machupicchu. After taking in the views close to sunset, we will continue for about 45 minutes until we reach Machupicchu where we will take the bus to Aguas Calientes. Here we will have dinner and spend the night.

  2. Day 2: Aguas Calientes - Machupicchu - Cusco

    Our guide will be waiting for you early at your hotel to take you to the bus station. The journey to Machupicchu lasts approximately 30 minutes. We will arrive in time to appreciate the sunrise at Machupicchu. Your tour with your expert guide in the citadel lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes. You’ll visit the most important places of Machupicchu such as the Royal Mausoleum, the Temple of The Three Windows, the Main Temple, and the Sacred Square of the Intihuatana. After the tour, you will have free time to wander Machupicchu on your own. Later we will take the return bus from Machupicchu to the town of Aguas Calientes, from here we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo and then a bus to the city of Cusco. You’ll be dropped off at your accommodation.
